Workshops

See the street as a creative canvas

With over 35 years working in the creative industries of design and photography, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the world’s largest brands. I bring this experience to my street photography workshops to help you become more creative when taking photographs. I guide you through the opportunities to capture moments in a new and engaging way. We will experiment and push the boundaries in image making to find new and exciting street photographs.

I take care to understand your needs as a photographer first and foremost. I then work with you to develop your eye and technique to express what you have in your minds eye. No matter if you are starting out, or more experienced, I will guide you through the streets to capture new images with confidence.

Along the way we will have an enjoyable experience in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Street Photography Workshops

NEW

Group Workshop with Paul Murray and Des Byrne.

Dublin in a Different Light, in association with Photo Museum Ireland

Saturday, 12 September, 2026. 11am-

In this immersive and engaging full day workshop, participants will have the unique opportunity to learn from not one, but two internationally respected Irish street photographers. Those being Paul Murray (@reflexlens) and Des Byrne (@desbstreet). The focus is on observing and interpreting urban streets creatively to seize opportunities for both abstract and candid street photography. Throughout the session, participants will acquire essential skills to manipulate light, space, and reflections in order to compose artistic and striking candid street images with complex layers.

What happens on a Street Photography Workshop?

  • Every workshop participant with receive a one-to-one briefing session where we discuss your work and your needs as a photographer.

  • We will look at inspiration from the great street photographers and discuss what they are doing that is so compelling.

  • We will have a guided photowalk through the streets with assignments and challenges to help develop your eye.

  • We will have a feedback session on your best shots of the day and talk about what’s next in your photography journey.

What to bring on a Street Photography Workshop

  • Your camera with spare batteries and a memory card that will hold at least 1000 images.

  • You can use a camera with a zoom lens but I would encourage you to use a prime lens to train your eye to see a particular focal length. No need to bring multiple lenses or multiple cameras - pack light.

  • Dress for the weather on the day.

  • Comfortable shoes (you will be on your feet throughout the day).

  • We can stop for refreshments as needed.
